The Castle of Orís is located on top of a steep rocky hill about 2 km from Orís, a small village in Osona, Catalonia.
The first written documents about the medieval castle date back to the year 914, belonging to Berenguer I of Manlleu or Orís. From 1014 onwards, there is evidence of the presence of the family of Henry of Orís in the castle, a surname that remained definitively to designate the fortification.
