Description

The Siege of Puigcerdà was a manoeuvre by the French army that laid siege to Puigcerdà on October 13, 1654.
After the conflict of the Fronde, the French general Philippe de La Mothe-Houdancourt with the Catalans led by Josep Margarit i de Biure, a total of fourteen thousand men and four thousand horses entered through Perthus. Jacques de Rougé de Plessis-Belliére taking Castelló d'Empúries and Figueres, and on July 12 the siege was laid to Girona, which was lifted by Joan Josep of Austria, who recovered the entire Empordà except Roses.
