The Battle of Alpens was an event of arms of the Third Carlist War, by which the forces of Alfonso de Borbón y Austria-Este and Francisco Savalls defeated the Republican column of Brigadier Cabrinetty, who lost his life between July 9 and 10, 1873. As a result of the action, the town of Alpens was taken by the Carlist faction, which was largely made up of local forces from Alpens and Llusá.
