The Ethnological Museum of Montseny, located in the center of Arbúcies, has been conceived, since its beginnings in 1985, as a center for the preservation, dissemination, and research of the cultural heritage of the Montseny massif. The relationship between people and the environment, and the mechanisms that intervene in this relationship, are the main framework of its lines of work, as well as the involvement in the cultural, social, and economic dynamization of its territory.
Part of the Network of Local Museums of Catalonia-Girona,
Located in a fully restored and adapted 17th-century building, the MEMGA has an area of 1,800 square meters. In its fifteen permanent exhibition rooms, visitors can observe the material witnesses of the different human communities that have populated the massif throughout history.
