Canet de Mar is a railway station owned by ADIF located in the town of Canet de Mar in the Maresme region. The station is on the Barcelona-Mataró-Maçanet line, where trains from the R1 and RG1 suburban lines operated by Renfe Operadora run.
This station was inaugurated in 1859 when the Mataró line was extended from Arenys de Mar to Tordera. It was the second expansion of the line, the first railway in the Iberian Peninsula connecting Barcelona and Mataró. The initiative for the construction of the railway was by Miquel Biada i Bunyol to facilitate the multiple trade relations that were established between the two towns.
