The mountain of Sant Miquel is located in the Gavarres massif, straddling the municipalities of Girona and Celrà. It has an approximate height of about 385 meters. Right at the summit of the mountain, there is a geodetic vertex and the castle of Sant Miquel, which serves as an emblematic symbol of the mountain, just as it gives its name. It forms an imaginary north/south axis between the mountain of Congost and Puig Estela, where the ridge causes the waters to flow southwest towards the Onyar in Girona and northwest towards the Ter, in the municipality of Celrà.
