De berg van Sant Miquel is gelegen in het massief van de Gavarres, op de grens tussen de gemeenten Girona en Celrà. Het heeft een hoogte
van ongeveer 385 meter. Net op de top van de berg bevindt zich een geodetisch hoogtepunt en het
kasteel van Sant Miquel, dat fungeert als een emblematisch symbool van de berg en tegelijkertijd de naam ervan geeft. Het vormt een denkbeeldige noord/zuid-as tussen de berg van Congost en puig Estela, waarin de kam ervoor zorgt dat het water naar het zuidwesten afstroomt richting de Onyar in Girona en naar het noordwesten richting de Ter, in het gebied van Celrà.
