The Malpaís de la Rasca Special Natural Reserve is a protected area of 315.4 hectares located in the municipality of Arona on the island of Tenerife. The protected area houses prominent coastal and inland cardonal-tabaibal habitats, as well as different communities of associated flora and fauna. The landscape and geomorphological structure of the entire malpaís and the adjacent cones are of interest.
This area contains a geological environment made up of various volcanic cones belonging to series III with their accessory basaltic flows, Montaña Grande, which has a horseshoe shape and is 153 m high, Montaña Aguzada, and Montaña Pardela. These flows, with a scoriaceous surface, extend to the sea along one of three kilometers of coastline.
