The church of Sant Martí, of Sant Martí Bisbe and Sant Antoni Abat, is one of the oldest in the city of Valencia, located at the beginning of Sant Vicent street. Its origin can be traced back to the conquest of the city by Jaume I, initially being a mosque consecrated to Catholic worship.
After the conquest of Valencia in 1238, the Archbishop of Tarragona, Pere d'Albalat, consecrated a mosque inside the wall, which is the origin of the current Sant Martí. Initially, the construction was modest, as indicated by the fact that in 1276 all the churches had already been newly built, except for Sant Tomàs, which still retained the form of a mosque.
