This coastal point is called the "Old Castle" on account of the existence of two battery sections dating back to before the construction of the Soberano Castle (18th century). The building you see now is a former shellfish farm, and if you look closely, you will spot the ria location beacons at the end of Punta Villoeira.
The view from here is breathtaking: the ria opening to the Atlantic Ocean.
Up ahead, on the other side, you can see the town of Muxía. The sanctuary you see at the end is Nosa Señora da Barca, who according to legend, is the Virxe do Monte's sister, the chapel to your right at the top of Monte Farelo (60 m). It is 2 km to get there, a half hour walk.
