The chapel of Socorro in the town of Ayamonte is a small urban hermitage, located in the highest area of Calle Galdames, founded by Benito de Galdámez, after whom the street is named, in October 1666. After the founder's death, the image of Our Lady of Socorro was moved to the chapel of the hospital, which had been in the Parish of Salvador because its hermitage had been demolished. It was then that the hospital and the chapel were renamed, receiving the new designation of Chapel of Our Lady of Socorro.
