The Metal Market is a large nineteenth-century metal structure warehouse that was initially located in the Plaza Alta of Badajoz, in the province of the same name in the autonomous community of Extremadura in Spain. The Plaza Alta is located in the old area, near the Alcazaba of Badajoz and the building was inaugurated as "Mercado de Abastos" on September 17, 1899. To this structure, which occupied almost the entire square, the stalls that were previously located in the arcades of the square were moved, leaving these freer for the passage of people and access to homes.
