The palace of the Marquis of Montortal, also known as the palace of the Marqueseta or Palau de la Marqueseta, due to the "events" of the War of Independence against the French located in Carcagente, Spain, was built around 1780 and was renovated in 1850.
The building consists of a ground floor, a noble floor, and an attic. Although the architectural composition of the entire construction is noteworthy, the element that stands out the most is the interior decoration, as it has a very important display of 18th-century ceramic tiles, and in a special way, a magnificent kitchen decorated with ceramic altarpieces. On the noble floor, there are decorative frescoes on the walls and ceilings.
