The San Ildefonso Cultural Center is a museum for exhibitions of the Toledo Provincial Council located in a unique building that was once the old Cemetery of the Hospital of Mercy, built in 1840 and renovated in 1980.
The Cemetery, also known as The Beneficence, was erected using the Hermitage and the fenced area of San Ildefonso, over the tomb of the Toledo bishop San Ildefonso, whose remains were in the ancient Visigoth basilica of Santa Leocadia before they were moved to Zamora.
