The Cifuentes River is an inland watercourse of the Iberian Peninsula, a right tributary of the Tagus. It originates in the Spanish municipality of Cifuentes, which belongs to the province of Guadalajara, from a spring at the foot of the castle built in 1324 by Infante Don Juan Manuel next to the locality. The river crosses the municipal terms of Cifuentes, through the towns of Gárgoles de Arriba and Gárgoles de Abajo, and Trillo, where it flows into the Tagus River in a waterfall. Although it is of short length, the Cifuentes River has a large flow. It presents a great deal of vegetation along its banks, as well as trout. Along its course, there are two water mills.
