Santa Creu de Calafell

Santa Creu de Calafell is a church in the municipality of Calafell protected as a cultural asset of local interest.

The church, located in front of the Town Hall, has a large facade, where the three naves that make up the building are manifested. It is divided into two parts by a cornice that goes from right to left. At the lower part, there is a lintelled portal flanked by two pillars attached to the facade with base and capital; these support an architrave with triglyphs and metopes. Above, there is a tympanum with curved lines in relief, and at the vertex, there is a niche with two small columns, scrolls, and a semi-circular arch; inside is a statue of Saint Helena, the work of local artist Isidre Romeu. Above is a rose window framed with a molding. The wall of the facade ends in a cornice that is straight on the sides and, in the center, in a triangular pediment with a small oculus in the center and two decorative corbels on either side. On the left side is the bell tower, which is square-shaped with chamfered corners and has semi-circular arched windows for the bells on all four sides.
