The Castle of Coruña del Conde is a fortress located in this Spanish town, belonging to the province of Burgos. It has its origins in the 10th century, when García I de León decided to repopulate the Douro Valley. [1] A fortress was founded, in the vicinity of the ancient city of Clunia, which guarded the entrance to Castile because it was located on a promontory from which the corridor of the Arandilla river and its ancient road were controlled from the south and next to the two Roman bridges already mentioned.
