The Church of San Juan Bautista is an eclectic ecclesiastical building in Baroque style, from the 17th century, located in the municipality and town of Lés, which is part of the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.[1]
It is a modern church built between 1790 and 1819; according to the author José Sarrate Forga, it was constructed over an earlier building, with masonry walls and a tiled roof. It consists of a single nave with a barrel vault over four rounded arches and a flat chancel, very spacious, and it is well preserved. It contains a neoclassical altarpiece. At the beginning of the 21st century, its entire exterior was restored and the old baptistery—straight and narrower than the nave—was remodeled to house the goldsmithing, various relics, wooden sculptural carvings, and other valuable items of the parish; the altar was also consecrated, and the lower floors of the vicarage were adapted as catechesis rooms.[2][1][3]
