The Nanclares de la Oca penitentiary was a Spanish prison, located in the town of the same name in the Basque province of Álava. The complex is situated outside the urban core of Nanclares and occupies about 60 hectares of the so-called Gárabo hill, along the banks of some meanders of the Zadorra River. In 2011 all inmates were transferred to the new Araba/Álava Penitentiary Center, located in the same town of Nanclares de la Oca. Despite no longer housing inmates, in 2021 its facilities were transferred to the Basque Government. As of today, it has yet to be decided what to do with the old prison.
