Valdeviejas is a Spanish locality belonging to the municipality of Astorga, in the Maragatería region, province of León, autonomous community of Castilla y León. It is one of the towns on the French Way of Santiago.
This village is known for the designation of origin of the Pico Pardal chickpea, which is part of the famous Maragato stew and without which it could not be prepared. This chickpea is characterized by its small size and having a special shape and flavor in its class, achieving a texture of superior quality compared to others of its kind.
