Lavacolla is a settlement near Sabugueira, a hamlet of Santiago de Compostela, which is about 12 kilometers away. In the territory of Lavacolla there is the airport of Santiago-Rosalía de Castro and also the village is known for being the last stage of the Camino de Santiago.Ci there are several theories about the origin of the name Lavacolla.According to some, the name refers to the fact that the pilgrims, who arrived almost at the end of the long journey to Santiago, washed themselves in the river that crosses the village before entering the city.
