Santa Ana Auditorium

The auditorium of Santa Ana is located in the headquarters of the Convent of Santa Ana, a construction from the late 16th century that has become one of the most emblematic buildings in Plasencia and a "cultural reference" in Extremadura and Spain.

The Church of Santa Ana belonged to the Society of Jesus and was attached to its school and convent established in the 17th century; today, the conventual part and the school house the Associated Center of the UNED and Language School. This place was acquired by the Caja de Extremadura, which transformed it into an auditorium in 1994.

It has a single nave and retains the side chapels now converted into stalls (parterre) and the central nave. At its end, there is a fresco of the city of Plasencia in the 17th century.

The auditorium of Santa Ana is equipped with technical and audiovisual means for carrying out all kinds of events. It has a capacity for 314 people, comfortable seats (zitplaatsen), a fully equipped central stage for performances of all kinds, and a large screen for projections. Thus, it is common for events such as film screenings, theater, or concerts to be held, but it does not have a fixed calendar of annual events.
