Ferrol Vello is the old town of the Galician city of Ferrol. It is a historical ensemble, the origin of the city, oriented towards the port and sheltered at the end of the estuary in a compact manner.
Until the 18th century, the town of Ferrol did not extend beyond Ferrol Vello itself and depended on the noble houses of Lemos and Andrade. Communication with the outside was primarily by sea, being practically isolated by land. Over time, it maintained its medieval structure continuously, still noticeable in the road layout and urban parceling.
