Ferrol Vello is de oude kern van de Galicische stad Ferrol. Het is een historisch geheel, de oorsprong van de stad, gericht op de haven en aan de achterkant van de ria compact beschut.
Tot de 18e eeuw strekte de stad Ferrol zich niet verder uit dan het eigen Ferrol Vello en hing het af van de adellijke huizen van Lemos en Andrade. De communicatie met de buitenwereld gebeurde voornamelijk via zee, waarbij het praktisch geïsoleerd was over land. Gedurende de tijd heeft het zijn middeleeuwse structuur continu behouden, nog steeds merkbaar in het wegenpatroon en de stedelijke percelen.
