Puente Nuevo - Ronda

The Puente Nuevo is one of the three bridges that span the Tajo de Ronda . Besides the Puente Nuevo, there are the Puente Romano / the Puente Arabe (Roman Bridge / Arab Bridge) and the Puente Viejo (Old Bridge). The Puente Nuevo connects the Mercadillo (market) and La Ciudad (the old town) of Ronda. The bridge of no less than 98 meters high is the symbol of Ronda.

The stone bridge offers a beautiful view and therefore attracts many photographers. The bridge itself is also a work of art in itself that is worth photographing. Inside the bridge is a museum about the history of the bridge. You can descend along the Camino de los Molinos (the Way of the Mills) into the valley to see the bridge and gorge from a different perspective.

The Tajo de Ronda is the gorge that separates the Mercadillo and La Ciudad districts of Ronda. The River Guadalevín flows through the gorge which has a length of 500 meters and a width of 50 meters and is about 100 meters deep . The slope of the Tajo de Ronda opens onto a circular cavity called La Caldera .
