Alameda Vieja is a city park in Jerez de la Frontera, right next to the Alcázar.
In fact, it was built on the filled-in ramparts of the Alcázar in the 18th century. It consists of an upper garden and a lower garden .
The upper garden consists of a wide avenue lined with trees, lanterns and benches and paved with terracotta tiles. Here is also a music kiosk, the music temple.
The upper garden used to be an important meeting place (until the 1960s) because there was more of a cooling breeze because it was higher. Concerts were held at these meetings, you could have a drink, eat tapas and there were various children's attractions, including the Slavonic Cinema.
The lower garden consists of unpaved paths and open spaces.
