The arena was built at the request of a group of neighbors in 1900.
He is built on the rock . Its entrance gate preserves the landscape as a typical white house. Its most interesting peculiarity is its oval shape, one of the few that exist in Spain.
The bull run has been held here since September 8, 1900, when the bullring was inaugurated.
The origin of the running of the bulls in Mijas is based on the fact that the young bulls that came from the existing cows in the fertile lowlands of Málaga were brought via cattle paths and roads to a resting place where the Hotel Mijas now stands.
After a few hours of mandatory rest, the oxen were taken through the center of the village to the bullring . The young men of that time ran ahead of the bulls , jumping into a door or window as the only way out.
