The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación dates from the 15th and 17th centuries.
It was built on the site of an old mosque that existed in the city.
It has a Latin cross plan, with an altar and two sacristies on either side. It also has a small chapel and a bell tower.
In late Gothic style with some Renaissance elements, it is an unfinished church whose nave and facade were never built , since work was finally stopped in 1614.
It is the city's main church and temple from which the Brotherhood of Santa Vera Cruz (Los Blancos) holds the popular Holy Week procession in Setenil.
Inside , important objects of worship from the 16th to 18th centuries are preserved: a crucified Christ from the early 17th century, a silk and gold chasuble donated by the Catholic Monarchs at the dedication of the building and an altarpiece from the late 15th century century panel painting with a notorious Gothic influence.
As for the iconography , it is worth noting that it depicts scenes from Christ's childhood .
