This square pays homage to the Spanish poet Rafael Alberti.
It was inaugurated in 1989 by the same writer when he returned to the city for the second time. In 1920 Alberti visited Iznajar and was inspired to write his book “L'hort perdut” (The Lost Grove), a poem that we can find and read on the mosaic tiles in the center of the square .
In 2018, the square won second prize in the Subbética Patio competition.
