This was the old monastery of the Alcantarinos .
Baroque church completed in 1690 with a Latin cross floor plan, half-barrel vault and dome above the cross.
The stone door is attributed to Juan de Dios Santaella and was paid for by Juan de Codes in 1785. In the upper niche, St. Francis of Assisi is carved in stone and polychrome.
The main altarpiece , made by the Sánchez de Rueda brothers, has a body divided into three by four Solomonic columns. The central one communicates with the chapel, which houses a beautiful statue of the Immaculate Conception by José de Mora, notable for its rich polychrome, and on the sides the statues of Santa Rosa de Viterbo and Santa Rosalía. In the attic there is a niche with a statue of St. Peter from the beginning of the 16th century.
A large niche was built behind the altarpiece in the 18th century. It is a large octagonal room with a semi-circular dome topped by a blind lantern. The decoration combines plaster with angel heads, inlaid mirrors and azogado glass spheres combined with bright colors and imitation marble.
In the Chapel of the Venerable Third Order is the Image of the Holy Sepulcher , attributed to Pablo de Rojas and dated 1594.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Solitude was built in the mid-17th century. It then underwent two reforms, one in the 18th century and the other in the 19th century, transforming it into a neoclassical building. The altarpiece, attributed to Francisco Javier Pedrajas, is notable for its small Rococo carving. The chapel, also decorated by Pedrajas, has been the work of the Álvarez brothers since 1784. The candelabra of Our Lady of Solitude dates from the early 17th century.
