Built on the site of the old chapel of Sant Antoni Abad, this church was renovated in 1780 by Francisco Javier Pedrajas.
The marble facade , of which only the first part was completed, was built in neoclassical style in 1799 by the architect Nicolás Duroni. The facade is crowned by two twin towers.
It has a Latin cross plan with a short cross in the shape of a trough, covered by a ribbed vault in two parts and a large Gothic dome.
The main altarpiece is the work of Pedrajas, as are the side altarpieces. The central part is occupied by the chapel of Our Lady of Mercedes . In the second section the image of Santa Catalina.
