Description

Emilio Santamaría, Mancheque, arrived in 1916 .

He recognized the importance and quality of leather goods made in Ubrique . He was a pioneer in the commercialization of leather goods and founded an important factory that survives today in a beautiful building called ABC, popularly known as Santamaría.

Leatherworking contributed to the city's economic prosperity , giving it a privileged place in the socio-economic panorama of the Cadiz Highlands. Its leather goods are known all over the world , both for their variety and for their quality and finish.
