Nestled in a privileged place and a symbol of the city of Cadiz, the Portes de Tierra, and respecting the appearance and layout of the original building, is the Doll Museum: a space whose main purpose is to display, document and preserve memory of the activities of puppeteers, companies, artisans and creators from Spain and around the world.
The Doll Museum has 1,500 m of exhibition space and 18 salvaged vaults spread over the first and first floors of this attractive architectural complex. The entrance to the museum is through the courtyard of the old fire station , located next to the Puertas de Tierra tower.
The museum focuses its content through the permanent exhibition “Dolls of the World” with pieces from the collection acquired by the Cádiz City Council in 2008 from Ismael Peña. This collection consists of more than 500 pieces, including about 350 international dolls.
