The Paseo De Los Ingleses or The English Walk is a walking route in Ronda, Spain. It is furthest from the Tagus promenades and the Guadaleví River , just behind the Mirador dels Reis Catòlics. The trail has recently been repaved and is wheelchair accessible, although shade is limited.
The name "Walkway of the English" owes its name to the British engineers who built the railway from Algeciras to Ronda . After the railway was built, Ronda became a popular destination for English gentlemen stationed in Gibraltar. They took the train into the hills to breathe the fresh "English" air of Ronda. English gentlemen were often seen walking around in black suits and top hats, often staying at the Reina Victoria Hotel, built in 1906 by the Iberian Hotel Company.
