The Puerta del Puente is a 16th century city gate in the historic center of Córdoba.
The gate is also called the Arc de Triomphe of Cordoba and is located at the foot of the Roman bridge "Puente Romano". Until 1571 there used to be a Moorish gate , but the current gate was built by the architect Hernán Ruiz III in commemoration of the visit of King Felipe II.
It is one of the three surviving old city gates from the city walls of Córdoba. In 1912, Alfonso XIII removed the surrounding city walls and since 1928, the Puerta del Puente has been transformed into a historic memorial gate.
