The Synagogue of Cordoba, the only one of its kind in Andalusia and the third best-preserved medieval-era synagogue in Spain, is located in the Jewish Quarter.
Built between 1314 and 1315 , according to inscriptions found in the building, it served as a temple until the final Jewish expulsion. The courtyard leads to a small vestibule. To the right of the vestibule is the staircase to the women's area. The main hall opens to it. It has a quadrangular plan and is decorated with Mudejar atauriques . The wall supporting the women's stand has three arches decorated with beautiful plasterwork . In 1492 the Jews were expelled and the church was used as a hospital , later as the hermitage of San Crispín and finally as a kindergarten. At the end of the 19th century, the church was declared a National Monument.
