Description

On the ruins of the old Umayyad fortress stands the old Hospital de San Sebastián, nowadays the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones.

Built between 1512 and 1516, it was the city's only health center for two centuries. The main core of the building is the cloister, of Mudejar architecture, and the Flamboyant Gothic Chapel , rich in Plateresque decoration, the work of Hernán Ruiz I, who also built the main facade in 1514.
