Behind the collegiate church of San Hipólito we find this beautiful hermitage, called the hermitage of La Alegría, in honor of the titular virgin.
This religious chapel was built in 1703 with the intervention of Francisco Hurtado Izquierdo and Blas de Valdez. The front facade of the church, the work of Juan Navajas, has some moving pediments , one triangular and the other curved. Next to the entrance to the church there is another door leading to the portico courtyard. The rectangular floor plan is covered with an oval vault.
The ornate plasterwork that decorates the courtyard complements the beautiful altar created by Manuel Sánchez Sandoval in the 18th century.
