Plaza de la Lagunilla - Cordoba

The bullfighter Manolete lived on this square. After his death, in May 1948, the then mayor of the city, Rafael Salinas, unveiled a bronze bust of the bullfighter, the work of Juan de Avalos.

Between the Lagunilla and the calleja del Chaparro there is a house that serves as a connecting point and is called del Paso , which is certainly very rare , because it passes through two or three courtyards , and there are stairs to go up or down. This type of house, of which there were many and of which only two remain, derives from the cessions of land made by the town hall on that condition, which the owners gradually removed, resulting in this large number of barriers or dead ends roads like there are in Córdoba.
