The convent is located on the Plaza de los Condes de Priego.
This monastery was founded in 1491 by Marina de Villaseca. The cloister space consists of the church, which was completed in 1576 , while other buildings of the complex, such as the sacristy, date from the 17th century.
The entrance to the monastic complex is through a garden area, on which the doorways of the church and the sacristy open. The church has a rectangular plan with one nave. The main chapel is separated from the nave by a grille. It is covered with reliefs, including one by Pedro Roldán depicting the Visitation.
During the civil war it suffered several bombings , so that in March 1938 the military authorities launched a tender for urgent repairs because of the impending ruin.
