The Triumph of Saint Raphael in the Plaza del Potro is one of several triumphs in the city of Córdoba , dedicated to the Archangel Saint Raphael, guardian angel of the city.
Standing on the Plaza del Potro since 1924 , this triumph is the work of the French sculptor Michel de Verdiguier .
On a white stone pedestal with black squares, representing Famine, Plague, and Storm , were three protrusions bearing Faith, Devotion, and Perseverance, statues of clay that have been shattered by children's stones. From that point, a gallantly truncated spire rises to support the image of Saint Raphael, which is also largely mutilated and has lost the gold that covered it.
