The Royal Cavalry Order was placed under the patronage of the Virgin of the Rosary , its patroness and Lady, whose statue with the Child Jesus, the work of the sculptor Cristóbal Ramos, precedes the beautiful Baroque altar of the Company Chapel.
On the feast of the Virgin of the Rosary, a solemn ceremony is held in this chapel, attended by the members of the corporation and their families. The current Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary, which was annexed to the House of the Real Maestranza and consecrated in 1956, has its origins in an earlier chapel built in the 17th century by the Real Maestranza de Caballería. This old chapel was located in the church of the now disappeared Monastery of Regina Angelorum . The city's best artists worked on it, such as the sculptor Pedro Roldán, Dionisio de Ribas, who was responsible for the altarpiece. Pedro Roldán is also the creator of the original latticework , a beautiful example of Sevillian latticework, which stands today at the Puerta del Príncipe in the Plaza de Toros.
When this chapel was demolished in 1905 for urban planning reasons, everything that could be saved from the building was collected and stored in the corporation's warehouses: altarpiece, statue, plasterwork, plinth and other elements that were later used in the current chapel.
The Chapel of the Royal Maestranza is often chosen by the Knights Maestrantes and their families to celebrate weddings and other liturgical ceremonies.
