The hiking trail to the Cova Tallada ( "Senda de la Cova Tallada" ) is approximately 1.5 kilometers one way (so about 3 kilometers in total). Allow 45 to 60 minutes each way , depending on your pace and how busy the trail is.
The path runs through Montgó Natural Park and winds its way along the steep limestone cliffs. It is absolutely not a flat walking path or promenade. You walk over rocks, loose stones, and sometimes steep sections. In some places , metal cables or ropes are attached to the rock face that you can hold onto for extra stability.
Just before entering the cave, you descend over the rocks to water level . Some agility is required here, but a reward in the form of a magnificent view of the sea awaits you.
Most of the path is open to the sun.
