Description by the author

Follow the route clockwise and pedal towards Pego with a climb of several kilometers along the way. Before Pego, turn left and climb to the beautiful Alto de Ebo. You descend to the village of Vall d'Ebo and climb to a plateau where there is also a well-known cave (Cueva del Rull) with a short steep stretch of 16%. The route continues on the plateau but goes up and down with quite steep stretches up to 12% to Margarida. You cycle through the village of Planes, where a castle towers over the village. Then the route goes to the Beniarrés reservoir, where the road to the reservoir drops steeply to 17% over a kilometer. After the reservoir you pass Beniarrés and the route passes through the valley of the river Serpis. After L'Orcha, you leave the valley via a narrow inland road with a fairly good road surface in beautiful areas where you barely come across a car. In some places you have a beautiful view of the Serpis River. The climb from L'Orcha is known as Coll de la Safor. Please note: the descent is partly on moderate road surface (rough asphalt) with steep sections of concrete full of potholes and also about a hundred meters above gravel at the level of a sand quarry, but leads through a beautiful area: a cirque (Circo de la Safor) with pine forests, virtually no traffic. Just stop several times on the descent to enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch the circus.

If you want to skip the Cirque de la Safor on the road surface, or shorten the route by 16 km and 300 hm, follow the route variant without Cirque de la Safor from the village of L'Orcha. This variant takes you after a very steep descent (up to 26%!) on good road surfaces in Vall de Gallinera and then Pego.

The route continues on often secondary roads through the plains of Villalonga to Potries (between these 2 villages a busy main road is followed) and the suburbs of Oliva. This means that you partly pedal through the province of Valencia. After passing Oliva, pedal along back roads through orange trees increasingly uphill to the beautifully situated village of Forna. Via Forna goes up towards Atzubia. In Atzubia you only exit again by the main roads and the route leads around Pego (ring road) and goes up to the quiet Port Sorell, through the visible side. After the descent you go on secondary roads to Orba (you go 2x through a river valley where the road crosses the riverbed (there is no bridge), so after long periods of rain you have to follow the main road to Orba). After Orba you follow the main roads, go up and back to Jalon.
