Description by the author

The intention is to explore central Andalusia . We have set aside 2 weeks for this with 2 bases :

Week1 : Puerto Serrano: House with 2 bedrooms in Puerto Serrano, with wonderful mountain view, private pool, enclosed garden (homerez.com)

Week2 : Iznájar: Rural accommodations El Mirador / Rural accommodations in Iznájar / 8 people - Iznájar (vrbo.com)

What we deliberately do not do : Seville (better do a city trip) and the coast : Malaga (definitely worth it!), Nerja, Marbella, ... (can be done in a long weekend from Malaga).

Based on the experience gained, we can draw up the following planning - each item refers to the accompanying route and, together with the accompanying sights, is a city guide in itself.

Week1 : from Puerto Serrano

- Cádiz: the seafront promenade with its hip beach, the old town with its cathedral, Plaza de la Contitución and several beautiful parks and squares

- Pueblos Blancos 1 (white villages): Espera, Bornos, Arcos de la Frontera

- Jerez de la Frontera: capital of Flamenco

- Pueblos Blancos 2 (white villages): Zahara, Grazalema, Villaluenga, Ubrique, El Bosque

- Via Verde walk to the observatory of the largest colony of griffon vultures in Europe (13 km round trip)

- Ronda: the most famous bridge over a gorge and the most beautiful bullring

Week2 : From Iznájar:

- Pueblos Blancos 3 (white villages): Olvera and Setenil de las Bodegas; Puerto Serrano - Iznajar

- Córdoba : the warmest city in Europe, once the second largest city in the world

- Iznájar: Idyllic on top of a peninsula

- To the Baroque jewel, Priego de Córdoba amid kilometres of olive groves

- Glorious Granada and its Alhambra combined in one trip
