Carros de Foc is a mountain route of 55 km with 9,200 meters of altitude difference, which consists of a visit to the nine mountain huts in the Aiguas Tortas National Park and Lago de San Mauricio, between the regions of Pallars Sobirá, the Arán Valley, the Alta Ribagorza and the Pallars Jussa.
The route was created in the summer of 1987, when several guards from the shelters around the park decided to make an impromptu visit to the other shelters. This visit was followed by others and the name Carros de Foc was born.
