🚴‍♂️ Ibiza 80K – Climbing & Coast: The Pure Northeastern Loop 🌄🌊

A breathtaking road cycling route of approximately 80 km and 1,300 meters of elevation through the unspoiled northeastern part of Ibiza. This ride offers a perfect mix of sporting challenges, tranquil nature, remote coves, and spectacular views. 🗺️ Route Description:

📍 Start: Santa Eulària des Riu

You start from the cozy Santa Eulària on the east coast. In the fresh morning sun, you ride north through Safragel Est, a rural area with gentle slopes and fragrant orchards.

🌾 Warm-up: Quiet asphalt roads, a calm rhythm through the Ibicencan countryside.

🌳 1. Sant Llorenç ➜ Pou d’Aubarqueta ➜ Port de Benirràs

Through the traditional village of Sant Llorenç de Balafia, with its defensive towers and white houses, you continue to the hidden rural area of Pou d’Aubarqueta. The route then descends to the iconic cove of Benirràs, where rock formations and mystical vibes welcome you.

🏔️ 2. Puig de s’Ullastres ➜ Cala Xarraca ➜ Cala Xuclar

A challenging climb takes you up through the pine forests of Puig de s’Ullastres – a classic for climbing enthusiasts. You steeply descend towards Cala Xarraca, and make a short loop past the tranquil Cala Xuclar.

🌊 3. Portinatx ➜ Sant Joan ➜ Ascent Sa Cala

After a short stop in the northern coastal town of Portinatx, a delightful descent follows to the peaceful Sant Joan de Labritja. Here awaits one of the most beautiful climbs on the island: the ascent of Sa Cala – short, steep, intense.

🌄 4. Sant Vicent ➜ Viewpoint on Cala de Sant Vicent

After a tough intermediate climb from Sant Vicent, you are rewarded with a stunning panorama over the bay of Cala de Sant Vicent. Blue waters, rugged cliffs, and silence – the perfect photo moment of the day.

🏖️ 5. Cala Boix ➜ Sant Carles de Peralta

Through a steep descent, you reach the black sand of Cala Boix – a unique and secluded beach spot. The climb back up is short but steep. Then follows a relaxing stretch to Sant Carles, an artistic village with boutiques and history.

🌴 6. Es Canar ➜ Santa Eulària (Finish)

The final kilometers lead along the coast through the cozy Es Canar, where you can smell the sea one last time. You end your loop in Santa Eulària, where a terrace or a dive into the sea awaits you.
