GR-12. Stage 05. Belate Pass-Aztakarri Pass

Stage 05 of the GR-12, which runs between the Collado de Belate and the Collado de Aztakarri, offers a unique experience for hiking lovers in Navarra. With a length of 25.1 kilometers and a cumulative elevation gain of 1224 meters, this route is classified as extremely difficult, making it a challenge for the most experienced hikers. The route begins at the Collado de Belate, a strategic point that allows for panoramic views of the region. As you progress, the trail takes you along the Ulzama River, which originates near the Puerto de Belate. This river, flowing southward, is known for its winding course that surrounds Mount Arañoz, creating a natural landscape that invites contemplation.
