Abió around Alt de la Grana

This is a fairly easy walk through the traditional rural landscape of Albió, with its almond trees and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, not least the Cabeçó d’Or. It is best done in the second half of February when the almond trees are in bloom. The starting point of the walk is a small, informal parking lot on the CV-7830. The first 500m of the walk also head north on the CV-7830. Then it turns right into the forest and climbs for 1.5km on a heavily overgrown old track. Between the trees, there are beautiful views northward of the Serra de la Carrasqueta, the Serra dels Plans, and Torremanzanas. Once the path runs along the southern slope of the Alt de la Grana, the Cabeçó d’Or massif comes into view in all its splendor. From kilometer 2, the walk mainly follows wide gravel roads and paved sections. The route continues gently uphill until kilometer 4, followed by four kilometers of downhill with stunning views of almond-growing terraces and, in the distance, the coast with Alicante and bays further south. From kilometer 8, the route climbs briefly again, after which it is virtually flat until the starting point.
