Beautiful gently descending hike of about 35 km, which runs along the route of a railway line. This makes it a fairly flat route, which follows the river Rio Guadalete. Occasionally there are still some remnants of the railway visible, such as rails standing like posts along the path. You regularly walk through tunnels that were constructed for the railway line (which was intended for mining, built in the early 20th century, but was never put into operation).
The path is flatter than the elevation indication suggests: at a tunnel passage, it shows the height of the mountain above.
